We’ve been watching the Oprah Farewell this week while working on the site and thought it might be fun to throw out a couple ideas to enjoy her finale in a healthy way.
After all, when it comes to the battle of the bulge, no one has done it more publicly than Oprah. We’ve all seen her famous yo-yoing photos on the covers of tabloids – they can be so cruel. We’ve watched her talk about it on her show, envied her personal trainer, and wished for her personal chef. Regardless, people seem to love her and for those of us struggling with weight loss, we sympathize.
Indeed, Oprah is loved by many and with good reasons considering her countless good deeds. So, if you’re thinking maybe you’d like to do a little something fun while watching her last show, we’ve found a couple quick and easy treats for you!
In honor of 25 memorable years, why not serve one of Oprah’s favorite healthy snacks?

Oprah Farewell Cocktail – Apple Martini
If you are going to have an Oprah Farewell cocktail party, remember that she loves martinis. Why not make sour-apple ones made with 2 1/2 oz. sour mix and 3/4 oz. each vodka and sour apple liqueur. It makes for a 160-calorie indulgence. I must admit, I quiet fancy an apple martini!
Whether you’re serving afternoon delights, fun party treats, or even both during Oprah’s last show, make sure to do it in style with your health in mind. After all, Oprah would want it that way and really what better way to do it?
Good luck to you Oprah and good health,
